TOYOTA CANADA WELCOMES VEHICLE FUEL EFFICIENCY INCENTIVES
The Vehicle Fuel Efficiency Incentive, announced as part of the recent Federal Budget and put in effect immediately, can offer up to $2000 in rebates toward the purchase of a new vehicle that meets the required fuel efficiency criteria.
These Federal rebates are in addition to Provincial rebates already being offered in PEI, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and British Columbia.
Passenger cars with a fuel consumption combined rating of 6.5 L/100km or less and minivans, SUVs and light trucks with a combined rating of 8.3 L/100km or less are eligible for a rebate*. The rebates start at $1,000, with an additional $500 for each 0.5L/100km reduction below those numbers to a maximum of $2000.
Not surprisingly, at the head of the list of qualifying vehicles is Toyota’s Prius, whose fuel consumption rating of 4.1 L/100km earns it the maximum rebate. Toyota vehicles include:
